Bucharest

Bucharest is the economic, commercial and administration centre of Romania.
It lies in the southeast of the country on the bank of the River Dâmboviţa. Its original name was Dambovita and was first mentioned in 1459. Bucharest is the only city which is a municipality that is the reason why it does not belong to any county.
